If you want to target a specific audience, you need to set conditions for the advertising campaign. You can set a general targeting group for all affiliates and a personal targeting group for a specific affiliate.

Targeting settings

To find Targeting settings, go to Offers > a certain offer > Targeting groups:

where:

  • Targeting group name: set the name of the targeting group. You can also see its ID.

🔎 You can generate a tracking link with the targeting group ID.

If the targeting group is disabled, it is not visible in the Targeting groups dropdown.

  • Presets: select targeting group preset if needed.

  • Condition settings: AND/OR.

🔎 If any of the conditions met for the OR targeting group, the system accepts the click.

In case of personal targeting group, apart from the affiliate match, at least one targeting condition should match for the click to be accepted on the personal targeting group.

  • Targeting group: ON/OFF. It allows you to enable or disable a targeting group.

🔎 You can see the additional Affiliates field, if you work with personal targeting group.

General

In the General section, you can find the following fields:

  • Countries: set the countries from which you allow to accept traffic. If a click doesn't comply with the offer targeting GEO, it goes to the trafficback or preview URLs (read more about Trafficback).

⚠️ If you set both local trafficback URL and preview URL, a click goes to local trafficback URL. It has priority over preview URL.

🔎 In the Country field, you can select not just countries, but entire regions (Baltics, CIS, CS, DACH, BF, Latam, Nordics, IUK, Australasia).

You can also add countries' array in the ISO alpha-2 format. Enter the country's ISO codes separated by commas in the country field, and click Enter:

  • Regions: set specific regions from which you allow to accept traffic.

  • Cities: set specific cities for the chosen countries from which you allow to accept traffic.

🔎 If you want to exclude a specific entity, use the Exclude checkbox.

Advanced

In the Advanced section, you can find the following fields:

  • Mobile carriers: set the carrier from which you allow to accept traffic.

  • Devices: set the devices from which you allow to accept traffic.

  • Browser versions: set the browser versions from which you allow to accept traffic.

  • Device model: set the device model from which you allow to accept traffic.

  • Device brand: set the brands which supply people with goods (Apple, Huawei, etc.).

  • OS: filter incoming traffic based on OS targeting.

  • IP/IP range: enter IP range or single IPs from which you allow to accept traffic. You can block IPv6 traffic by selecting the corresponding checkbox.

🔎 Affise supports three formats: IP, startIP - endIP, IP/mask.

  • ZIP/Postal code: select ZIP/Postal code from which you allow to accept traffic.

💰 The feature is available only for certain plans. Contact your Affise account manager to get the feature.

  • Connection type: choose between Wi-Fi/Cellular connection type to filter incoming traffic.

  • Referrer: enter traffic referrer. If you want to block an empty referrer, select the Block empty referrer checkbox.

  • User agent: enter user agent. You can also restrict known crawlers by using the corresponding checkbox.

🔎 There's the list of bots that will be blocked when the Restrict known crawlers checkbox is selected:

  • Twitterbot

  • LinkedInBot

  • facebookexternalhit/1.1

  • facebookexternalhit/1.1

  • facebookcatalog/1.0

  • Facebot

  • TikTok/1.0

  • YahooAdMonitoring/1.0

  • Pinterest/0.2

  • Snapchat/1.0

  • adidxbot/2.0

  • msnbot-media/1.1

  • AdsBot-Google

  • AdsBot-Google-Mobile

  • Mediapartners-Google

  • AdsBot-Google-Mobile-Apps

  • ISP: select needed ISP from the dropdown list. You can also block traffic without ISP by using the corresponding checkbox.

  • Click-level Anti-fraud: read about the feature here.

🔎 If you want to exclude a specific entity, use the Exclude checkbox.

Sub ID Rules

In the Sub ID Rules section, you can find the following fields:

  • Allowed sub accounts: block/whitelist some of sub1 - sub8 values which you get from affiliate's offer tracking URL.

  • sub1 and sub2 restrictions: the system sends traffic falling under the condition of any pair of sub1 & sub2 to Trafficback (read more about Trafficback).

  • Block traffic if empty: block traffic if the chosen sub account is empty. If the affiliate's tracking URL has a missing sub account parameter, the system redirects a click to the Local Trafficback URL.

  • Sub Value To Overwrite: you can choose which sub macro to overwrite in the offer and enter the list of desirable sub values.

  • Override Affiliate sub values: you need to enable the checkbox to work with the sub account input.

⚠️ Keep in mind the following peculiarities:

  • You can add up to eight sub account blocks.

  • The following digits, letters, and symbols are allowed for input: 0-9, a-z, A-Z, -,._{}+=/:~

  • The system allows you to enter up to 10240 symbols and up to 1000 lines in this field.

  • You are to write each separate value with a new line.

🔎 Values added to the Sub Value To Overwrite on the Targeting groups tab have the priority over the values added to the Sub Value To Overwrite field at the Offer > Tracking.

Read more about sub accounts here.

Personal targeting settings

To set specific targeting restrictions for one of your affiliates, you can create a personal targeting group for the chosen affiliate.

The setup of a personal targeting group is the same as for general targeting groups.

Additional settings

In the Advanced section, you can find three additional settings:

  • Consider personal targeting only option allows you to control the targeting group selection when click comes to Affise. Read about the feature here.

🔎 If there are no personal targeting groups, the Consider personal targeting only checkbox is selected, and targeting group ID is passed in the request, it is ignored.

  • Send hosts only option allows you to send only unique clicks to the Tracking URL of the advertiser, and the advertiser gets only unique users.

⚠️ If the feature is invalid, it means it's enabled on a higher level (Settings level).

💰 The feature is available only for certain plans. Contact your Affise account manager to get the feature.

  • Identify host by option allows you to identify hosts by:

    • User's cookie

    • Click's sub3

  • Duplicate Clicks Threshold option allows controlling the number of non-unique clicks, which the offer accepts. Read about the feature here.
