Automation

As the Admin panel user, you can work with a set of automation tools. The Scheduled changes, CR, click, and KPI Automation tools help you automate the work with offers.

You can find automation tools in Automation > Scheduled changes/CR Automation/Clicks Automation/KPI automation.

You set the rules with a certain tool, and when the rules are not met, the system automatically disconnects affiliates from offers, blocks sub1-sub2 or sub1-sub5 values, or changes conversion status depending on the tool.

The Consider personal targeting only option affects the way the system blocks sub1 and sub2 values (for the CR and click automation):

  • When the option is ON, the system blocks the sub1 or sub2 value only in those personal targeting groups where the particular affiliate is presented.

  • When the option is OFF, the system blocks the sub1 or sub2 value in all general targeting groups and personal targeting groups where the particular affiliate is presented.

The system ignores the setting for KPI automation. Sub1-sub5 values are blocked in all general targeting groups and personal targeting groups where the particular affiliate is presented.

There are four scenarios related to sub value blocking regarding blacklist and whitelist in the offer (for all Automation tools):

  1. There is a sub value in the whitelist. Click Automation blocked it - it disappears from the whitelist.

  2. There are no sub values in the whitelist. Click Automation blocked some value - it appears in the Sub value field. The Exclude checkbox becomes checked - the black list is created.

  3. There is the blacklist with some values. Click Automation blocked some additional sub value - it appears in the blacklist.

  4. There is the blacklist with some values. Click Automation blocked sub value, which is already on the blacklist - nothing happens.

⚠️ Sub values support the following symbols: a-z, A-Z, numbers 0-9, and these symbols: -,._{}+=/:~ . If the value contains some other symbol, the system doesn't block it.

🔎 On Affise, you can also use the Smart sub account input feature to rewrite the actual sub7 values sent by the affiliate via the Affise tracking URL. Read more about it here.

CR Automation

💰 The CR Automation feature is available only for certain plans. Contact your Affise account manager to get the feature.

CR Automation helps you automate work with offers based on CR percentage under the rules you set. You should control the CR percentage because a low % means that received traffic is of low quality, and a high % says about traffic fraud as a rule.

Once you start with CR Automation, you can create a rule.

where:

  • Advertiser: you should select the advertiser(s), and the system applies your rule to all offers of the selected advertiser(s).

  • Optional. Offer: you can select the offer(s) of the advertiser(s) you set, and the system applies your rule to the selected offer(s) of the selected advertiser(s).

  • Filters: it is possible to set a period for your rule to work. The system checks the statistics for the last number of hours indicated in the rule. One hour is a default period, and you can set a longer period in a drop-down menu.

    • Conversion threshold: you should set the min limit of the conversions, which makes your rule work.

  • Schema: you can select one of three conditions in a drop-down menu: by affiliate, by affiliate and offer sub1, and affiliate and offer sub2.

    • Affiliates: you can add multiple affiliates. If you do not select any, the rule works for all the affiliates of chosen offers. The field is required for schema by an affiliate and offer sub 1/sub2.

  • CR Thresholds: Min CR % is a required field. Max CR % is an optional field that is set for the created rule. Min CR % - Max CR % (if set) is the desirable CR percent range for the specified offers. If this percentage is out of the set limits, the automation tool starts the optimization process.

  • Optional. Notify affiliate: you can send notifications on blocking to your affiliates. The system turns on the option by default.

CR Automation works with full hours: if you set up the rule at 5.40, it will start checking statistics at 6.00. Then the automation tool checks the data for a specified time range per min CR % (and max CR % if set) under one of the conditions: affiliate(s) or affiliate(s) and offer sub1/sub2 (sub/1sub2 value received via a tracking URL from the affiliate (s)). If CR % is not as specified, the system blocks the affiliates and sub1/sub2 values (if selected).

When your rules work, you can check what is blocked:

  • In Automation > CR Automation > Block log. You can also export data from the Block log.

It is possible to get the Block log via API:

https://api.affise.com/3.1/automation/cr-and-sub/block-logs
  • In Statistics > Custom. You can select or not select Sub and Sub2 depending on the rules you have.

Click Automation

💰 The Click Automation feature is available only for certain plans. Contact your Affise account manager to get the feature.

Click Automation helps you automate work with offers and block affiliates if they reach a particular amount of clicks without a single conversion, or if the number of conversions is deficient.

Once you start with Click Automation, you can create a rule.

One hour is a default period, and you can set a longer period in a drop-down menu.

  • Block if: a condition under which Click Automation blocks a specific affiliate or sub value.

    • clicks: you should indicate the amount of clicks for the rule.

    • conversions: you should indicate the amount of conversions for the rule.

For example: if you set 10000 clicks and five conversions, an affiliate or sub1/sub2 value is blocked if the click amount is higher than 10000, and the conversion amount is less than five conversions. For you, it means your affiliate is a poor performer, and there are too few conversions for too many clicks.

  • Optional. Notify affiliate: you can send notifications on blocking to your affiliates. The system turns on the option by default.

⚠️ Click Automation considers conversions of all statuses.

Click Automation starts working five minutes after you set up a rule. If you set the rule at 5.30, it starts checking statistics at 5.35. The automation tool checks the statistics for the last 1/3/6/12/24 hours under one of the conditions: affiliate(s) or affiliate(s) and offer sub1/sub2 (sub/1sub2 value received via a tracking URL from the affiliate (s)). If the click amount becomes higher and the conversion amount is lower than indicated, the system blocks the affiliates and sub1/sub2 values (if selected).

When your rules work, you can check what is blocked:

  • In Automation > Click Automation > Block log. You can also export data from the Block log.

KPI Automation

💰 The KPI Automation feature is available only for certain plans. Contact your Affise account manager to get the feature.

KPI Automation helps you automate work with your offers and/or affiliates based on the value of KPI (the goals ratio). You should control the KPI percentage because a low % means that received traffic is of low quality, and a high % says about traffic fraud as a rule.

Once you start with KPI Automation, you can create a rule.

where:

  • Offer: you should select an offer, which the rule works for.

  • Action: the result you want to get. There are three possible options:

    • Disable the affiliate(s) from the offer. If you want to use this option, you need to specify the affiliate(s) in a relevant field. If the offer has the pre-moderate or private level of privacy, you can select only those affiliates who are connected to the offer.

    • Block a value passed via &sub1 - &sub5 parameters in the Affise tracking URL. The value is blocked on the offer level. You need to specify the affiliate(s), who pass sub1-sub5 values as well as a sub account.

    • Change the conversion status. Available statuses are: Approved, Pending, Declined, Hold.

  • KPI rule: you can indicate the necessary goals and KPI value you would like to reach. If you deleted the goal (in the offer settings), which was previously indicated in the rule, the rule doesn't work.

  • Range: you can set the time range for which the statistics is checked. Available values are hour, day, week, month.

  • Notify manager: you can decide whether to send a notification to a manager who is assigned to an affiliate, upon disabling the affiliate from the offer or blocking sub1-sub5 values.

⚠️ The system always sends a notification to affiliates, who were disabled from the offer or whose sub values were blocked.

KPI Automation works with full hours: if you set up the rule at 5.40, it will start checking Stats at 6.00. Then the automation tool checks the data for a specified time range per KPI, calculated according to the formula mentioned above. KPI Automation checks statistics each hour for the chosen time range. If the KPI value is less than the indicated one, the system will do the following depending on the settings: disable an affiliate from the offer, block sub1-sub5 value, or change the status of conversions.

When your rules work, you can check what is blocked or changed:

  • In Automation > KPI Automation > Block log. You can also export data from the Block log.
