Set up an additional tracking URL

Additional tracking URLs are a tool, available separately for each targeting group in the offer. With the help of it, you can adjust the share of traffic, which goes to the main tracking link, and the additional one.

Setup of an additional URL (link) requires two steps: adding a link itself and adjusting weights: the percent of traffic, which goes to this link instead of the main tracking link. On Affise, you can manage, which link for which targeting restrictions work within a few clicks.

Before you begin

Set up an additional tracking URL

  1. Go to Offers > a certain offer > Targeting groups > a certain targeting group.

  2. Click the + button under the URLs.

  3. In the URL field, insert the advertiser's tracking link, upgraded by parameters and macros.

  4. Optional. Click Add weight.

  5. Optional. In the Weight field, insert the percent of traffic, which will go to this tracking link instead of the main one.

πŸ”Ž If you miss steps 4 and 5, all traffic will go to the additional link only. The system distributes the percentage among all entered additional tracking links equally.

6. Optional. Unfold another targeting group and add the additional tracking URL there, proceeding with steps 2-5.

7. Click Save.

Example #1:

There are two additional URLs with weights:

20% of traffic goes to the first link. 30% of traffic goes to the second link. 50% of traffic goes to the main tracking link in the Tracking tab, the Tracking URL field.

Example #2:

There is one additional URL with weight:

10% of traffic goes to the additional tracking URL. 90% of traffic goes to the main tracking link in the Tracking tab, the Tracking URL field.

Set up a parallel additional tracking URL

  1. Go to Offers > a certain offer > Targeting groups > a certain targeting group.

  2. Click the + button under the URLs.

  3. Click Add Parallel tracking URL.

  4. In the right URL field, insert the advertiser tracking link, upgraded by parameters and macros.

  5. See steps 4-7 for the ordinary additional tracking URL.

Set up an impression additional tracking URL

  1. Go to Offers > a certain offer > Tracking.

  2. Click the + button near the Additional impressions destination URL.

  3. In the right URL field, insert the impression destination link, upgraded by parameters and macros.

  4. Optional. Click Add weight.

  5. Optional. In the Weight field, insert the percent of traffic, which will go to this impression destination link, instead of the main one.

πŸ”Ž If you miss steps 4 and 5, all traffic goes to the main impression destination URL.

6. Click Save.
