Additional links

The additional links option is an alternative to the main URLs for impressions, conversions, and parallel tracking. You can use these links to redirect and redistribute traffic to the additional tracking URLs instead of default URLs. This option can be useful when you deal with A/B testing.

⚠️ If you use additional URLs, the common percent of traffic should be 100%. Additional URLs have priority over the main link.

The system distributes the traffic the following way:

  • If you add several additional URLs and set their common weight equal to 100%, no traffic goes to the main URL.

  • If you add several additional URLs and indicate the weight only for some of them, the system adds the weight to the rest URLs automatically to reach 100% of traffic redistribution.

  • If you add one additional URL without weight, it gains 100% of traffic automatically.

  • If you add one or several additional URLs, and their common weight is less than 100%, the rest of the traffic goes to the main tracking URL.

    Additional tracking URL

You can set up additional tracking URLs in Offers > a certain offer > Targeting groups.

where:

  • You can add up to ten additional tracking URLs within one targeting group.

  • You can add weights in percent to redistribute traffic among the additional tracking URLs you set in the offer.

  • You can update an additional URL with macros the same way as the main tracking URL.

Additional parallel tracking URL

If you use additional tracking URLs, you can also put additional links for server parallel tracking. The logic of the server parallel tracking is the same as for other additional links.

Both links work in tandem. One pair of links has a common weight.

⚠️ If you want to use additional tracking URLs and additional parallel tracking URLs, you should have both the pair of main links and the pair of additional links.

🔎 The field appears if you have the Affise Server Parallel tracking feature enabled.

Additional impressions destination URL

You can set up additional impressions destination URLs in Offers > a certain offer > Tracking.

  • You can add up to ten additional impressions destination URLs for an offer.

  • You can add weights in percent to redistribute traffic among the additional impressions destination URLs you set in the offer.

  • You can update an additional URL with macros the same way as a main impressions destination URL.

⚠️ If you set additional impressions destination URLs, you should add the default impressions destination URL to save the offer.

Additional links via API

You can set up additional tracking URLs and impressions URLs with weight via API:

POST /3.0/admin/offer

Additional URLs and weights have their structure within the targeting group. You can add URL with the help of the url parameter, and weights with the help of the weight parameter.
