Click validation (click signatures) is an anti-fraud measure, which Affise has available for AppsFlyer and Kochava. Firstly, you need to enable the whole feature on the Admin panel. After that, you need to perform certain actions depending on which platform you use: AppsFlyer or Kochava.
Before you begin
Enable click validation
Enable click validation by choosing one of two options:
If you want the feature to work for all offers of a certain advertiser, proceed to the step 2.
If you want the feature to work only for one offer, proceed to the step 5.
⚠️ The offer’s settings are in priority over the advertiser’s ones.
2. Go to Advertisers > Advertisers Management > a certain advertiser edit page.
3. In the Click validation drop-down menu, choose AppsFlyer or Kochava, depending on your needs.
4. Click Save.
5. Go to Offers > a certain offer > 3rd-party.
6. In the Click validation drop-down menu, choose AppsFlyer and/or Kochava, depending on your needs.
7. Click Save.
Set up click validation for AppsFlyer
Take the API token on AppsFlyer. Check this article to find out how to do it.
Go to the Settings > Appsflyer.
Click Edit.
In the Encryption key field, add the key that you get from AppsFlyer support at [email protected].
In the API token field, enter the API token you got on the step 1.
🔎 The encryption key is only needed when hosts are sent. In other case, API token is enough. Otherwise, an API token is enough.
6. Optional. In the Click signing mode drop-down menu, select one of the options:
Disabled: click validation is not active.
Enabled: AppsFlyer blocks clicks with invalid or missing signatures (validation is failed).
Report Only (No rejection): AppsFlyer validates click signatures, but doesn't block clicks with invalid signatures.
🔎 AppsFlyer recommends you to set this mode in the beginning for a few hours to check reports later and make sure the settings are correct. After that, switch to the Enable mode.
8. Optional. In the Circuit breaker drop-down menu, select:
Disabled: AppsFlyer continues to block all clicks marked as invalid, even is the block percentage is unusually high.
Enabled: if AppsFlyer detects that too many clicks are marked as invalid, then the system applies the following measures: API changes to report-only, and a email alert is sent to you to verify the click signing API is correctly set up. Read more about the circuit breaker.
9. Optional. In the Excluded App IDs field, enter one or more Application ID to exclude them from the clicks’ validation check.
Set up click validation for Kochava
Take the private key on Kochava.
Go to the Settings > Kochava.
In the Private key field, enter the private key.
Click Save.
