Email setup is crucial for your affiliates to register in the network and activate their accounts.

💰 It's possible to set up a custom SMTP for an additional fee. Contact the Affise Customer Support team or your Affise account manager for that.

Email settings

The Email settings are located here: Settings > Settings > Email.

where:

  • Mail: your email account which you want to use. You can use the default Affise domain name: [email protected]. Also, you can set your custom email, and for this, you are to update all the fields based on the hosting side email account settings.

⚠️ It's recommended to use custom SMTP settings instead of default ones to ensure all notifications are sent in time.

  • Display name: your company name.

  • Protocol: your email provider protocol. Here, you can select one of three protocols:

    • SMTP: default protocol for email transmission.

    • SMTP+SSL: a standard security protocol for establishing encrypted links between a web server and a browser in online communication.

    • SMTP+TLS: similar to SMTP+SSL, but with a different type of certificate (TLC).

  • SMTP-server: email provider SMTP server type, typically set as "smtp.domain.com" or "mail.domain.com".

For example, a Gmail account refers to smtp.gmail.com. It's not a unified type, and you should pay attention and get the right SMTP parameters.

Below you can find a list of the SMTP settings of the most common providers:

  • SMTP-port: almost every outgoing SMTP server supports port 587, and it’s useful for unencrypted or TLS connections. Port 465 is used to connect via SSL.

  • SMTP-login: the same as your email account name.

  • SMTP-password: the same as your email account password.
