In Statistics, there are two slices that can be helpful when working with goals. This article describes the difference between them and shows in which cases you should use the exact slice.

Goals

By using the Goals slice of Statistics, you can analyze the performance according to the specific goals. You can see which goals were more than others during a certain period.

How to use

In the Goals slice of Statistics, you can create reports on goal values.

To create the report, select the needed period and timezone. You can also use additional filters (Countries, Offers, Os, Devices, and Smartlinks).

The report might look like that:

In this report, you can see how many conversions in each status have the goal "install" (1 conversion in the Approved status) and view the finances you get for it.

Events

Events report is a pivot table: a flexible feature that allows you to aggregate data according to several categories of information at once. It serves to create high-performing campaigns and get deeper insights on sales through the analysis of achieved goals.

The Events report is a more complex report than Goals. By using it, you can get a deeper understanding and analysis of the performance.

How to use

In the Events slice of Statistics, you can create reports on goal values grouped by different criteria.

To create the report, apply all mandatory filters (Period, Timezone, Offers, and Based on). In the Based on filter, you can select the entity according to which the system groups the data and creates the report (Offer, User ID, Custom Fields, and Sub-accounts).

You can use additional filters to make the report (Countries, Status, Goal, and Smartlinks).

The report might look like that:

3 - Google Chrome 2022-12-22 at 11.48.23 AM

1: data according to the criterion you choose in the Based on filter.

2: data shows how many conversions the system registered and how much money you got for certain events.

⚠️ If there is no title for the goal value assigned for the conversion, you see "Undefined" as a title.

  • QTY: number of conversions on a particular goal.

  • Payouts: payouts on this goal.

3: the total information about all events:

  • Total QTY: quantity of all conversions.

  • Total NULL: null conversion’s quantity.

  • Total Payouts: total conversion’s payouts.

In the above mentioned example, you see the data, grouped by Custom field 1, that shows how many conversions the system registered and how much revenue each event generated.

Advanced Events

Advanced Events report is designed to show customized event reports based on special metrics used for your industry, vertical or business type. It allows you to see custom reports according to different needs: cross-events ratio and rate reports, events comparison reports, conversion rate reports using multiple filters and metrics.

This report is extremely useful when using it together with the Events report. Affise recommends using it for gambling and e-commerce verticals.

How to use

To create the report, in the Advanced Events slice of Statistics, select what the report is based on (Month, Week, Day, Offer). Then select the needed period and timezone. You can also specify the offer in the correspondent field.

The report might look like that:

1: data according to the criterion you choose in the Based on filter.

2: data according to the selected metrics which you can use to analyze your performance.
