Tracking

In affiliate marketing, tracking is the process of managing and following marketing activities, usually through the use of special software like Affise installed on affiliate websites.

On Affise, tracking is the process of monitoring data flow, recording data in databases, and supplying a timely ordered sequence of data for further processing.

Tracking allows advertisers and affiliates to analyze their online activity and understand which elements are generating the greatest volume of visitors, conversions, and clicks.

All this provides a clear view of whether an affiliate marketing campaign is working or not.

Tracking metrics on Affise

There are three metrics Affise Performance allows to track:

1. Impression: a view of an advertisement that comes from your publishers. An impression happens when a user sees the ad on the webpage.

2. Click: an act when a user clicks the ad, and the system directs them to the product itself. Click happens on the webpage of a publisher, who sends the click information to Affise.

3. Conversion: the desired action performed by a customer on the page of an advertiser's product or service: install, registration, purchase, etc.
Conversions are based on clicks, and advertisers send conversion information to Affise.

Also, Affise allows tracking of conversions based not on standard clicks, but on promo codes and QR code scans. All this allows to hold successful campaigns for the e-commerce vertical and offline.
