In this article, you'll find the information you need to know to set caps for the received clicks and impressions.

Why may I need to set Click Cap and Impression Cap?
The reasons to limit the number of clicks may be very different: CPC model of payment, prevention of fraudulent activities and click spamming, CR control, etc.
Furthermore, within multi-geo offers, marketers prefer to distribute and limit traffic to varying degrees according to the user's geo. All these measures help to reach the target audience with a higher degree of precision.
You might need to manage the amount of impressions received for specific campaigns if your workflow implies impressions tracking.
Impression Cap is especially useful for you if you work with Appsflyer campaigns. You may encounter situations where Appsflyer considers a large increase in impressions to be suspicious and blocks it, although this behavior is normal for your campaign. Setting the limit on impressions can help you deal with it.
How to set Click and Impression Cap?
If you'd like to set Click/Impression Cap for one of your offers, you'll need to:
Go to the Offer's Settings
Find 'Caps' Tab
Set Caps Rules with the needed type
Once the cap is being set, the following settings can be applied:
Timeframe: Hour, Day, Month, All:
hour - it correlates with the click/conversion creation time. It's calculated for an hour according to the timezone you've set up for caps. Its reset happens at 00:00, 01:00, 02:00, etc. If you set up the cap rule at 15:45, it will be turned back to zero at 16:00, however the cap counts all clicks/conversions come from 15:00 till 16:00 (for the whole hour). If you don't have the timezone for caps, then the general timezone set up in Settings is used.
day - the daily timeframe is calculated for 24 hours according to your settings’ timezone, and its reset occurs at midnight. It’s also possible to set up the time zone due to the offer’s requirements.
month - it’s calculated for a calendar month. Even if the cap is set up on 15.11, the calculation will be made from 01.11 till 30.11, and it’ll be reset again on 01.12.
❗ Click/Impression Cap for Timeframe=All cannot be set up.
Value: set a specific limit for the amount of the clicks/impressions you'd like to get. Note that the min amount should not be 'zero'.
❗ The accuracy of the reached value depends on the offer's traffic speed. Take into account that a cache can be up to 5-min when it comes to Click/Impression Cap.
Sub account: set a limit for the number of clicks/impressions according to a certain indicated sub2 value.
Goal: by default, 'All' goals are set automatically by the system. The following setting is applied because the system cannot predict which action the user will perform once he/she reaches a landing page. Thus a goal cannot be defined on a click/impression level.
Countries: choose a specific country (-ies) which your cap settings should be applied to. E.g., if you set a cap rule for 1000 clicks/impressions and choose two countries, USA and Canada, your Affiliate will have the opportunity to send 1000 clicks/impressions from the USA and 1000 clicks/impressions from Canada.
Affiliate: All, Each, Select
All - caps settings are applied to All Affiliates. If you have set a cap rule for 1000 clicks/impressions, All Affiliates together (not separately) can send 1000 clicks/impressions for the offer.
Each - caps settings are applied to Each Affiliate separately. If you have set a cap rule for 1000 clicks/impressions, Each Affiliate can send 1000 clicks/impressions for the offer.
Select - caps settings are applied only for the chosen Affiliates. If you have set a cap rule for 1000 clicks/impressions and chosen only Affiliate A and Affiliate B, only Affiliate A and Affiliate B (each of them) can send 1000 clicks/impressions for the offer.
On the offer preview page, the caps for the rules Affiliate=Each, Affiliate=Select have the progress bar with an average number of clicks and average percent for all the affiliates sending the traffic.
❗ Overcap option (enabled or not) does not affect traffic distribution once it comes to Click/Impressions Cap. All the clicks received over the limit will be sent to the Trafficback URL according to your local & global Trafficback Settings. All the impressions received over the limit will be sent to the Disabled page.
